Cherries in the Snow
About 10 years ago, I had a gorgeous, scarlet-red nail polish by Revlon - I loved the colour and I loved the name even more… It was [and still is] called ‘Cherries in the Snow’ - Well, can you blame me? [This was before I even got with my hubby, Mr Snow... and for the record it's not why I married him].
Does any man really understand you? Well, my man didn’t appear to understand my extreme enthusiasm when this amazing piece of historical beauty appeared in my mailbox. It’s the original ‘Cherries in the Snow’ advert from 1953, featuring one of the first ever supermodels, Dorian Leigh.
This month, Cherries in the Snow lipstick returns to the UK to reunite with the matching nail polish, along with Wild Orchid, Love That Red and Sultry Sable. What better way to embrace the current 50’s trend, than to wear the genuine cosmetics from that era? And if your name’s Cherrie Snow, even better!

That is Dorian Leigh, one of the most famous supermodels of the 1940s and 1950s. She was also in Fire and Ice and slept with Mr. Revlon (Charles Revson) who wanted to marry her. Dorian’s sister was Suzy Parker- who was also in a bunch of Revlon Ads. Unlike her sister, she HATED Charles Revson.
